Mod Problem with 7zip
I've been running 8.1 for a couple of weeks. I like it... runs smooth so far. But I have a problem.
One question. How do you guys set up 7zip to associate it with your zip files? Especially for mods to extract them to SH5. It's not like it was before where all my zip files showed as 7zip. Something has changed. I can't get it to set up right. |
Quote:
1 - open 7Zip - File Manager 2 - open Tools → Options 3 - click System tab.. now you can associate your 7Zip program with any type of archive.. 4 - click Apply or you can use context menu (right click on the file/archive).. http://s19.postimg.org/q37dmbp6n/7z_4.jpg |
Got it V. I'm off to give it a try. I'll be back later.
My thanks bud. :salute: |
That was a bust. The 7zip I downloaded is the 64bit version to go with my 64bit 8.1 OS. After unchecking all the crap that wants to install first 7zip starts installing and quits. I've found a free version of ZipGenius 6.3 and installed it. It's working ok but not as good a 7zip used to. I hate these extras you get with sofware, but I gusee it's neccessary for keep it free. I'll see what happens with ZipGenius 6 for now. If that doesn't cut the mustard I'll go looking for 7zip again.
Thanks for the help V. |
I never had problems with adware with 7zip when I load the software from the official website.

I guess it depends on where you download from. I guess it's to help pay so the software is free to use so they're adding toobars and other software that automatically installs... if you miss dismissing them or don't uncheck them.
