So they don't have any bodies. :hmmm: Maybe there's hope.

It's ditched on the land, the lack of a mention of bodies is UK police carefulness, after all the next of kin have to be informed first before they can release any major details, plus the bodies will have to be ID'd, which means the military police will have to come out from Lakenheath. It'll be a few hours before they say anything for certain, but judging by what I've read on the Beeb, I doubt there will be any survivors, it's too early to tell but I'd wager the pilot was trying to autorotate onto the flooded marshland for a soft landing but a raised bank of earth got in the way.
Sad news indeed, I dare say I'll see more on the local news later today.

I doubt there is a 'good way to go' when deaths are the resultant consequence.

I don't care to add to any speculation but I was told by a mate today that the crash in Norfolk may have been as a result of a collision with a goose.

My thoughts too, it's the time of year for geese flocks and it was right next to an RSPB reserve.

Just realised, the Pave Hawk went down in Norfolk, UK, and the MH-53E has gone down off Norfolk, Virginia. :doh: Within twenty-four hours of each other too. Fate moves in very mysterious ways. :doh:

EDIT: US Navy has corrected the earlier tweet that it was an CH-53E that crashed to an MH-53E

EDIT EDIT: Four people have been rescued from the Virginia crash, search is continuing for one other.

That's a bit of good news anyway :cool:

Just not a good year so far for us.

At least some survivors were recovered. That's good in the end.

One of the four rescued has sadly died, according to latest news, and the names of those who died in yesterdays crash has been announced, they are:
