General Motors recalls 1.5m cars in China

Quote:

General Motors (GM) and its partner firm in China are recalling about 1.46 million cars amid concerns about their potential safety.

In one of the biggest operations of its kind to date in China, GM and Shanghai General Motors will recall their Buick and Chevrolet models.

The cars could have issues with a bracket securing the fuel oil pump, said China's quality watchdog.

At the same time, Ford will recall up to 81,000 of its Kuga cars.
Glad, I stick to a German car.

Nice swipe at a certain buyers market.

Well i'm german and i have always preferred english cars. Not that there's much left of them .. what i did not like was the 'plumber's nightmare' (Chieftain), and the Bedford lorry with the air-pressure wipers, let alone it had no brake when the engine was off .. but i digress.
" ... 1959 Ford Anglia: Everything that was wrong with American styling of the late-1950s is even worse on a tiny British Ford. The roof line seems to die of embarrassment at the rear window ..."
But i loved MG, Triumph and Jaguar. Never was able to afford an old Riley or an Aston Martin.

An old big US car like a Chevy Impala, that would be something though. Otherwise I never had high regards on american cars. Too big, no road holding to talk about and all of them gasoline guzzlers.
The latter has changed, but why should i buy a small Chrysler, when i can get an equally small japanese, italian or french car cheaper, which will have better quality as a side effect.

Unfortunately modern german cars suck. All of them. From electronics to mechatronics to (especially) design. Or should i say non-design? Because it isn't. If you want to look at the most ugly car of the world you might as well look for german cars. Unfortunately the world still buys them. I would have thought that WW2 saw to that, but no! Unbelievable.
:D

You should love these German cars. Looks a lot like the old XK-120.

Must be opposites day....

Anyway, the old Angle box (Anglia) made for a nice looking police car back in the 1960s.

My kids drive an Audi and a BMW/Mini Cooper and I must say they look much improved when compared with similar models only about five years ago.

They may well need all those extra vehicles if the restrictions on offspring are being eased.
