Hitler's Lost Sub (TV) Programme

This Sunday 29th the PBS America Channel has a 2 parts back to back programme starting at 21.30 to 24.00 hours called Hitlers Lost Sub.
This an investigation into a WWII German sunken submarine found off the New Jersey coast in 1991.
Sky channel 534 and also Virgin channel 243.

Just watched both episodes. Well worth the time watching. Some really good historical film footage.

This was just on PBS America. I hadn't seen it before. Astonishing documentary and an astonishing story about U-869. Those brave men on a suicidal mission late in the war - and no one knew they'd missed their order to redirect to Gibraltar and ended up being sunk by a misfiring acoustic torpedo off the New Jersey Coast.

Had me in tears by the end seeing the relatives and the sole survivor who missed the sailing with pneumonia honouring his friends and comrades. What a terrible time the whole war was. Thank God its over and may we all never have to see such terrible times again.
