Phil Robertson the DUCK
Let the fun start...
I've never seen the show myself, but it stays on the news and FB has gone mad. |
Should really be a third option for "Not particularly bothered" :yep:
|
Or never heard of it.

edit. wait, I'll add a fourth choice. They're all in cahoots. It's a publicity stunt. That's my black helicopter theory. |
Phil has the right to his opinions, no matter how offensive they may be. A&E will cater to what ever will make them the most money. Right or wrong is irrelevant here. Phil still is the head honcho of his company and making millions either way.

I find him a hypocrite...First, he signs with A&E partly owned by Disney and ABC, both support gay rights...Second, he signed both a show contract and an entertainment contract which would clearly shun him from such statements...simply, he failed to do as he said he would.. I've never seen the show, but Fox news seems to be making him a hero, along with the Christian right...he certainly isn't a hero and his free speech was bigoted and racist..
My guess is like the fake reality show this is a mere scripted ploy by him to gain more attention and wealth..which is a smart move on his part. |

The interview was with GQ magazine. A pile of airport bathroom reading rubbish losing readership daily. How to sell a few mags? Set up a sucker. The question should never been asked. It's loaded. Phil should not have answered. But, Phil can say what he likes whether racist or bigoted. Others don't care for his views that he believes are Biblically based. Apparently he is just a jackwad because he does not follow certain ideals of other groups of people. What the hell does Phil care anyway? The guy was loaded before the programing. As usual, profit will make the decision for all involved. Mostly A and E. Phil does not need the money. He also told Barbara Walters she could interview him. This was before the latest rash of PC stupidity. Phil was booked for Barbara. He said screw it and went duck hunting instead. Gee, I wonder how he will handle Oprah if she asks. :haha:

Always a surprise when people who value "tolerance" are unwilling to tolerate those who see things differently from them. Everyone should be able to hold their own values.
|
Not a fan of the show...mainly because it's too staged and too political.
However, I am a fan of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Therefore, a fan of free speech. Also, personally, I'm honest and I speak my mind. I think more people should be that way. We'd get a lot of problems solved quicker than how it is now. Not because I like the show....but because of the 1st Amendment...bring him back. :yep: If they want to teach tolerance, teach tolerance for all points of view and not just the gay point of view. |

I don't have a clue what this thread is about, some guy said something unsavoury?
It's not news here, we'd just vote him in to government. |

It's Hollyweird...
The top culprits in the campaign for gay rights. It's ok if they want rights as long as they don't go stepping on ours in the process.:stare: They're free to boycott Phil's show and products. Sodom and Gomorrah come to mind here. I don't dare imagine what these people would do with a duck call.:88) QUAAAACK! |

Edit: After a bit of research, I would like to change my vote to 'Couldn't give a monkeys' bum either way.' |
