DD run out of depth charges?

Just recently I was operating off Lots Wife and I ran into a CV escorted by 1 DD. I moved into postiotion and sank the CV. this of course pissed off the DD who came and gave me a few toothshakers(no damage). However after about 2 or 3 passes he wasn't droping anymore. this went on for a hour before I decided to sink her.

Question though. Do escorts run out of depthcharges are was it just my game?

I believe they DO, but I've never stuck around long enough to make sure, so it's just my opinion

Yes they eventually do, but be aware that the game gives destroyers more DCs than they carried historically. Most Japanese destroyers early in the war, only carried between 14 and 16. (some of the older DDs didn't carry any) This was eventually upgraded to 36. The Japanese kaibokan escort vessels you meet later in the war are deadlier. They carried about 120 depth charges.

I don't know how many the DD's have, but I believe Duci gave the TMO escorts more, as they would otherwise tend to run out too often. Something about the way they throw patterns out or such. In any case, they can indeed run out.
