Making the twin 40mm playable?
I'm sure in reality they probably didn't fit the fleet boats with twin 40mm's, but in the US Sub parts file, I cant help but notice it's there. When I look at the .eqp file though, I don't see it being available. How would I go about making that available to add on to the sub? I tried editing the .eqp file to no avail.

I think I actually had it once. It was very near the end of the war though if I did.

I had a mod once for the Twin 40 but I lost custody of it when my old hard drive died and I had no backup. I'd sure like to have one again - they make short work of even an Emily.

HA! I figured it out! :woot:
open UpgradePacks.UPC and change UpgradePackSlotType= USDeckGun to UpgradePackSlotType= USHeavyAA then it will magically be available and functional. I can only put it in one slot at a time so if someone can help me figure that one out that would be awesome. [UpgradePack 11] ID= Upack40mmTwin NameDisplayable= Twin 40mm AA Gun FunctionalType= UpFTypeWeaponFlak UpgradePackSlotType= USDeckGun Type=NULL UnitUpgradePackIntervalOptionCurrent= NULL, NULL, 0 UnitUpgradePackIntervalOptions1= 1944-05-08, NULL, 1000 IDLinkUpgradePackElements= 40mmTwinUS |
looks like you can install 2 40mm twins, but for some reason it likes to CTD when you fire with 2 installed. One single and one twin works without having the CTD issue. Twin also has the same rate of fire as the single, so halved the recoil time on the .sim file to have the rate of fire of two singles. With highly skilled crew, staying on the surface under enemy air isn't so dangerous now.
The same thing works to make the BMG .50 work too. It says USMGAA when it should say USLightAA. |
