newbie question sh3 vs sh5 and steam
Hi,
I haven't played a subsim since Aces of the Deep. I want to get back in and am looking at SH3 or SH5. Both are available on STEAM. Any recommendations for either. SH3 appears more playable without MODS. SH5 seems to need them. Any issues with the STEAM versions of these games? Thanks!! :ping: |

DO NOT buy the steam version for SH5. You can not use the mod TDW patcher using steam. Wonderful improvements with mods constantly for SH5. |

I have the steam version and have been playing just fine for the past 3years. |
Welcome Aboard, jbruns29! :sunny:
I'm not sure how much either game costs on Steam, but on disc they are so cheap that buying both is an option. While SH3 runs better without any mods, there are so many great ones available for it that you really miss a lot running it without. This means that you really want mods no matter which you choose, so there isn't as big a difference in that respect as it might seem. Yes, SH5 needs the mods to make it run correctly, but it is well worth the effort. |

TDW patcher |
The Patcher is a product of God (TDW) Himself. :D
It is needed for the full SH5 experience. |
