One day, one day we will have a major military project that does not overrun or go over budget.
One day... :/\\!! |
Sod's Law says the only one in history was the TSR2. :D
As a basic low-life in the military I used to see the results of bids/contracts/consortia, I used to see the costs double or more on a regular basis as the quality or functions reduced. :/\\!! Think of a number, a very large number. Now double it and submit your bid. You've won? Nice, now double THAT number. What's that? Hard times? Ask the government for some tax inducement. Easy - I could write contracts. |
So does this mean they will be less able to afford the ships aircraft, which they had already decided they couldn't afford to buy.

And that nobody really wanted in the first place! |
More than likely...we could ask for the return of the Harriers of course.
What odds on France selling a few upgraded Rafales? |
Nothing to HS2 BS they told us all, just watch it triple.
No doubt after we built it the cost will be so sky high we're be forced to sell it or at best rent it the French. |
STEED and his mate Dave could sail them up and down the Thames as party boats. Might be able to repay the cost in a few hundred years.
