Napoleon:Total War

I purchased Empire: Total War a few years ago and totally forgot about the next Napoleonic release...is it any good?

I've ordered it anyway.

Its pretty good, though not on the same in terms of land mass. Theres quite a few good mods for NTW, like LME.

Any links?

The Zulu link in particular would be appreciated

Heres a link to the Total War Center's NTW hosted mod page and the Zulu mod is in there. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...-Modifications

I ALMOST bought Shogun today....

ALMOST.....

But I didn't. I have some demos that I've still yet to play, but the TW series looks interesting. :hmmm:

Must admit I looked at Shogun as well but thought the fighting animations left a lot to be desired.

I'm still trying to get a copy of Medieval Total War. I grew up with that game...

I would opt for Medieval 2 as it is compatible with more modern machines. Great game as well by the way, as are all TW games. Shogun 2 is fantastic!!

That's cool Jim, we should play sometime.:D You'll love the English campaign, it's pretty tough though.:Kaleun_Salute:

You need to beat the French Navy down fast, then you can have your way with them.:D Build up your trade routes to support your war effort.

I've played all the Total War games that have been made and Napoleon is my favorite. It fixed a lot of the problems that Empire had and I believe it also has the most mods available for it. I would highly recommend Darthmod Napoleon if you really want awesome gameplay, the unit sizes and battle mechanics are about as close to the real thing as you can get.

Shogun was alright, but I honestly don't see what all the buzz was about. There were some cool new features, but like others have said they battles were pretty stale.

I did get a chance to play around with Rome 2, and I tell most people to avoid it like plague and get the original instead

NTW is quite good and the SP campaign is worth a look. MP is good too. I use the Darth Mod which works well adds a bunch of units and allows for larger armies rhan stock. Must try the Zulu mod though.

Give me a shout if you want a mp game sometime.
