NOT GOOD!

I've just deleted my SH5 gold, with a lot of addons!
I find it "rubbish"!!

Ok, the scenery is fine, load on is slow, U-Play interferres too much and i, the last time, need to restart the game 2 times before i could into the sub:down:

I'll stay with SH3 GWX3 and SH4:up:

Sorry folks:arrgh!:

Webster 10-30-13 10:58 AM

why be sorry? you didn't do any more then the average person who didn't give it the time to properly read mod threads and figure out which mods and which mod load order to use. we get threads like this a lot and most of them end with the person taking the advice to do more research and they find the mistakes they made and start enjoying the game.

no one disputes the game is not good "as released" and it matters not to me or anyone else here if you give up on the game but as fellow gamers we are here to help you resolve any issues you are having but only if you are willing to try, mods can and do fix "most" things and make the game good and quite enjoyable.

if you rather not learn what you are doing wrong or even try to fix whats not working then its best you return to another game that is easier for you.

Thank for your answer Webster, which i find a little abusive!

As i said, i've messed around with a lot of addons in SH5. I know quite a bit about sims, but this one is "U-Play down"

I'd better stick with those "that is easier" for me:doh:

Targor Avelany 10-30-13 01:16 PM

Please accept all of our condolences for your suffering.

Personally I think the game is fairly decent stock. A little plug-n-play feel to it but runs great (I've never had issues, even with maxed settings). When you add mods it adds load on the gpu and cpu but that's expected. It'd be a perfect world if we could run sobers mega mod with no extra strain on components but...
Sorry it didn't work out for you. I have bare minimum mods on my game and I'm rather enjoying it. That said, SH3 is a good fall-back.

Trust me, he's gentle ... I would be abusive ... I would tell you to follow a reading comprehension course and reread the sticky's in the mod forum after that ... install sober's modlist after that .. and if you do that, none of you original complaint remains. I'd also tell you PEBKAC is the issue here.

So I wont, and you can now enjoy the gentle comment by Webster :shifty:

Sartoris 10-30-13 03:51 PM

Trust me, the game is well worth the effort of assembling and applying all the mods. The best U boot experience out there, in my opinion, but only due to the huge effort of the modders.

flag4 10-30-13 05:22 PM

PEBKAC
what's that mean?

a couple of responses were a tad harsh.

negativity isn't necessary when some one is down.

expressing his frustration with the sim has resulted with others expressing theirs - rightly or wrongly.

a little tolerance and empathy would be more suitable.

though I have to say I don't think the sim is rubbish. its not finished that's all. its still being fixed - thank god.

I think 'follow a reading comprehension course' wont help any one as advice its just bound to ruffle feathers. and 'it matters not to me or anyone else here if you give up on the game' just comes across as unfriendly. and I'm not included with 'any one else here.'

it does matter. so just take some time away from SH5 as I have done BassII. things will come along in time. I like to come over to SH5 to see how things are going - and I feel they are going well. personally I just don't have the time in my day-to-day life to read and install all the mods, I whish I did. I find it hard too, installing and crashing. its draining.

happy sailing BassII, you'll get there in the end...like we all will, with a little patience.

sorry if you felt it was abusive because it isn't meant to be abusive so why take it that way? its just a realistic assessment of a situation we deal with repeatedly over and over and over again every few weeks.

if you found my comments somehow insulting or felt it was abusive then perhaps there was too much truth in it for you.

im not trying to make you feel bad for giving up on the game but im also not going to go along with the idea that its not worth the effort to resolve the issues that come up, most of which are just simple errors from lack of research or not following instructions.

almost every issue players have can be resolved with a little time, patience and help from the community that is willing and ready to help you if you want that help

I am unsure why the OP is surprised that a forum full of people who have dedicated their love and time to finishing the brilliant SH5 engine into a playable experience would react negatively to such a post. Maybe the preferable course of action would have been to go post in the SH3 forum that you are happy to be back because you prefer that game, rather than dropping mild negativity here. Or perhaps take your complaint to Ubi, not these fine folks who toil over this stuff!

Positivity, people! Were all stuck in a tiny tin can together, so let's not quarrel.

To each his own,

Lode

Absolutely! This forum is for lovers of SH5 ONLY! People with criticism of the game (who are wrong-headed anyway) should take their negative opinions and bad experiences ELSEWHERE. Let no negative opinions disrupt the smooth, orderly progress of SH5 toward perfection. We do not want to hear from people who disagree with us. OP, please go and post somewhere else. You were mistaken to think that your opinion and your experience were worth consideration.

If he would follow that advice, and then actualy read a few topics in the MOD forum, his rather hasty uninstall and declaration that the game is rubbish, would not be there to react to.

He gets a dead on assessment of the situation, and finds that abusive. You know what I would call abuse ? Telling a mod community that their work is rubbish based on a dimwitted try and no effort at all to get some help.

It doesnt. People that invest a tiny little bit of effort have a blast playing this game .. nothing is lost if he hates it cuz he didnt try .. at least, not on our end of the spectrum.

oh no, yet another of those threads http://levipere.com/wp-content/plugi...leySuicide.gif

Criticism is always very welcome when it is constructive, and it is one of our best resources for making SH5 better. Call me harsh, but when on the contrary it arises from simple frustration and/or from the will to demolish this game, I am not interested in it. Videogames are not a relief good after all, and I don't see why I should feel sorry for someone who prefers playing SHIII (which is a beautiful game by the way) rather than SHIV or 5.

Bilge_Rat 10-31-13 07:48 AM

Constructive criticism and dialogue is always welcome.

Reading post#1, it is hard to tell if the OP was being deliberately provocative or if he just lacks the basic computer skills to run SH5. Either way, Webster's reply was suitably restrained and gentlemanly.

Of course, since it appears English is not the OP's principal language, perhaps when he posted "rubbish", he actually meant "Brillant in some areas, but still too many rough edges in other areas for my taste", but he lacked the language skills to properly express himself. :hmmm:

BassII 10-31-13 08:53 AM

Holy mackerel! A hornet's nest.....
I thought this was a world wide web site! Obviously not!

"follow a reading comprehension course"
"since it appears English is not the OP's principal language"

If you read my posts again, then maybe some "principals" will see, its not the SIM i'm getting at, but >> U-PLAY!

Thank you all for your "feedback", but at this time
No Thank you:hmmm:
