how to complete Dirty Atoll

Its says return to a Tahiti port after getting the samples. Dont see any "ports" anywhere on the island. Got the ship as close to shore sa I could. Still says incomplete. Im using the lwami mod. 3.09.

If I remember the mission right, you need to go to the map and patrol the two designated zones. If you enter them and remain for at least a minute or so, it counts as collection. Be sure not to run aground. Once that is done, you will get word that the "bad guys" are getting away with their own material. You will need to have your Seahawks on the other side of the island and search for a Type 212(?) submarine. Find him, sink him and clear the mission.

That's how I remember it too. Later I'll check the brief to see what the mission was. I do remember that it is one of the easiest missions/tutorials, of I think one star.

PS Just read the brief, and all you are tasked to do is take the readings starting with the first site. I have not played that scenario in years, and can't remember anything else. I may play it again later.

I got the samples then it tells me to head to a liberty port in Taihiti.
I will try it again and see. Havent played DW in many years so I could have missed something.
Thanks

then you should have gotten a message saying mission accomplished.
Try this, play the mission "African Bees nest?", and see if you get the "mission accomplished" message after you leave the waters of Gambia.
If you don't hear that message, then that is why you don't know that the mission is accomplished.

"I got the samples then it tells me to head to a liberty port in Taihiti."

This part I don't remember. There's also the freighter and the submarine that you have to deal with.

The "report to tahiti" is a rope-a-dope in the scenario to take you away from the island to give the sub a fair chance to try and get away. If you ignore your orders and go ahead and cruise to the NE corner of the island, you can stop him cold when he appears and you have clearance to attack.

Ok on replays Im getting the sub alert. But now even if I kill the sub I get hit with a torpedo that the autocrew dosent seem to ever track. It never appears on the Nav map.
How the hell do you evade a torp without any decoys?

Easy: Never give him a shot to begin with. You should be out of his firing arc and detection range while you manage both of your Seahawks to get a shooting solution on him. Order the Seahawks to kill him. There is no reason to engage directly.
