New US Carriers for SH4 1.4?
 

I'm running SH4 1.4 with TMO1.7.6. I wanted to add different US Carriers to my roster, but when I attempt to add CV Saratoga, CV Enterprise, and CV Essex, they cause the game to CTD. I then noticed the ships came from mods that were only compatible with SH4 1.5 or SH4 1.4 with UBM add on. Is there anywhere I can find the above listed carriers that are compatible with SH4 1.4 and won't cause a CTD?

Better odds of getting UBM/1.5 honestly, and well worth it in the end.

to add those ships to v1.4 just follow the procedures for adding ships to the game and remember for v1.4 files might be a little different. one think that might be causing it is they changed the way ships are classed in v1.4 and if its not classed right it cant find the ship and will ctd

it is recommended to get v1.5 ad-on because almost all mods need this version in order to work

look in the subsim storefront and you will find a link to buy it on amazon and using that link will get subsim a commission on the sale to help support the website

One thing I found funny is when I went into the CV Saratoga.DAT file using S3D, the ship is labeled as USEarlyWar, not Saratoga. I tried to rename it Saratoga in the nodes list, but couldn't. Not sure why it's incorrectly named.

ships are named by class and not by name because many ships are built from one class so the name the game uses isn't always what you would expect so there is often confusion with ship class names

im not able to remember much about it but I think the main key for ctd issues is the type numbers need to match the game version you are using

Is that hardwired into the game version, or is it something that can be changed? ...and if it can be changed, where do you go to change it?
