can not initialize 35 engine
 
get this message after the intro video plays or if I try to skip it upon launching the game I have a hp pavilion on windows 7 8 gb ram and 1 tb hdd. and a amd vision processor. I have no clue how to fix this to make my game work!

Hi Brandon, I have no idea as to what that error message means, but you could always try to reinstall your game.

Do you mean the 3D engine? Windows 7 has a newer version of DirectX than what comes with the SH5 DVD. There is a subfolder called directx on the DVD. I have no idea how directx is packed onto the sh5 download.

I have fixed directX issues and 3D initialization issues with all versions of silent hunter 3 or newer when reinstalling the directX that came with the original DVD.

If that does not work, try to reinstall the 1.2 patch. If that does not work, uninstall game. Uninstall Uplay if applicable as a separate program entry in programs and features. Shutdown. Reboot. Install game, patch. Get the latest UPlay from Ubisoft and install before playing game. Uplay links

Copy your SH5 documents folders and filles to another folder just in case SH5 erases them during an uninstall.
