Hide in the crowd?

Forget it, that's over. Thanks to new camera technology: giga-pix cameras.

Zoom.

70K x 30K pixels (21K Megapixel). Being in use for public surveillance today.

No doubt there will be those with the opposite viewpoint/opinion but that should be a great aid in helping the authorities id suspects at a marathon for example.

Not if they are dressed as the honey monster.

Looks photo-chopped to me. But who cares? If you are not doing anything wrong why worry?

Herr-Berbunch 08-13-13 09:09 AM

Haha, let's play a game. Somewhere in the crowd is Scumbag Steve's Canuck Cousin. Where?

Because people have the right to privacy and to live their lives without being under surveillance 24/7.

Herr-Berbunch 08-13-13 09:12 AM

And what's happened here? Towards the bottom right of the image.

Can't say, your picture isn't viewable :hmm2:

Where's Waldo?

Just wear a Guy Faux mask when you go out in public.:haha:
Simple logic creates circumvention.

Sailor Steve 08-13-13 09:37 AM

I see it fine. I don't get it, but I see it. :sunny:

Jimbuna 08-13-13 09:39 AM

Must borrow Steve's spectacles then :)

What don't you get? The Scumbag Steve (not you) reference, or the body-less legs?

Scumbag Steve is this meme -

And the legs-only is just that, legs only, no body.

Same can be said about bugging your working place and have mikes and cams in your appartement. Nothing wrong with that. And since you are an innocent, well-meaning guy, it must also not be of your concern who can access such datasets behind the veil of the claimed regulations. I mean the real access - not the appeasement laws that politicians refer to to make your heart beat calm and steadily.

People also had no problems with the Stasi or the Gestapo as long as they had not done anything wrong and did not disagree with the regime.

I think people should really be more suspicious of governments and lobbies and politicians. Never trust them. Never. Their record speaks against them.

Work places here are filled with cameras. Not only for security but to watch employees. Bugging ones residence or placing cameras in it is not legal unless there is cause to do so and warrant for surveillance is issued. Taking a picture of a crowd and being able to see clearly any individual is nowhere remotely close to Stasi or Gestapo. It is simply a picture and a clear one at that.
