Who is your favorite Sub movie Captain?

I was thinking about this, for obvious reasons if you've read my story thread, and was curious what other opinions were out there. I think mine would have to be Scott Glenn's Bart Mancuso in Hunt for Red October. Thoughtful, confident, and hard as nails when he has to be.

Nonsense! gotta be Clark Gable in the Bungo Strait in Run Silent Run Deep. Line up on the tin can crash dive and fire point blank heasdon; usually works for me

Both of them are Bucaroos!

But I'd go with Mancuso personally.

Armistead 08-05-13 10:01 PM

Clark Gable of course..

Bubblehead1980 08-05-13 10:04 PM

Favorite is Marko Ramius(Sean Connery, as most of you know) Bart Mancuso then Clark Gable. I liked Bill Paxton as Captain in in U-571, he did well.

I have to put my votes in for Cary Grant from Operation Petticoat, and Kelsey Grammar from Down Periscope. I have to give an honorable mention to Captain Nemo.

Curt Jurgens, Clark Gable and Sean Connery :D

How could I have not thought of Kelsey Grammar? lol.Honestly, that silly little movie was one of his best roles. William H. Macy played CO of the nuke sub well also.Favorite scene is when he passes his XO some money, apparently losing the bet about the Stingray completing the mission.

Gunsilnger 08-06-13 11:29 AM

I like Matthew Mchaunihey's character in U-571
"YOU FIRE NOW OR WE ALL DIE!!"

Bill Paxton was also great in that one
