Medals: What do they do?
 

I am back into the hunt with a vengence. That said, I cannot find anything on what each of the six medals do when each is given to a crew member. Is there a thread or a document somewhere explaining what is the function of each of the medal, game- and stat-wise?

Also, what boost does giving a medal do to a crew member? I thought it would boost experience, but in fact it does or adds nothing.

I think they are just eye candy.

I think they gain skill or efficiency. It's been a while since I saw the manual.

Aside from the small yellow cross indicator of the crewman,s picture how does one award a crewman beyond the first iron cross during the course of the war in SHV? Please advise.:arrgh!:

I don't know what medals actually do, but I doubt they're there for no reason. I suspect that the effect they have is seen over time though. Next time you award a crewman a medal, maybe make a note of his stats as compared to the rest of his compartment, and see hoe they compare after a few more patrols....

Aktungbaby you have to be awarded the medal and then drag it over to to a member qualified to receive it.

What annoys me is on one career after EVERY mission I get a VC and it says "on the 1 patrol of this vessel"...cute considering im on patrol FIVE!!! :stare:

Good point. I apologize for suggesting that a user might better find an answer to a SH5 question in a location other than the SH4 forum. No idea what I was thinking.
