German Subs: Sunken WWI U-Boats a Bonanza for Historians
|
I understand and respect that the submarines are war graves but I would love to have a few of them recovered from the seabed and placed in museums in England and Germany.

The NYPost has an article, and of course they used a picture of a Type VII sub to represent Imperial German Navy subs. :rotfl2:
Also, the submarines are described as being WWI subs at one point, and WWII subs at another point in their article. Is it a mix of subs from both world wars? If so, they should clarify. Not very impressive journalism. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/interna...zk05pQXPJZRcVI |
If they are war graves then they shouldn't be touched at all, but on the other hand if the U boat was captured or abandoned by her crew the I suppose that's a different story.

I always wondered whether war graves actually expire.:hmm2: No one cares for example for war graves from the times of the Roman Empire. They get neatly dug out and everything found is put on display... |
The Medway near Chatham is a good place for subs, within about ten miles you have Uboats from WWI, WWII and two submarines from the Cold War.
