Petersen Automotive Museum To Auction Off Collectibles
For those of you who want a little something different for your driveway:
http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2013/...-collectibles/ Hey, wait...do I hear a high pitched, squeaky sound? Why, yes, it's Jay Leno and his checkbook... <O> |
No U-boats :hmm2:
|
I've been to the Petersen Museum and some of those cars are as big as boats. And, remember, the old VW ads: "The VW Beetle will definitely float, but it will not float indefinitely"...
<O> |
That wagon and trailer are superb.

Yes, I'd like your best condition P-51D...with the whole nine yards of ammunition...aaaannn-Oh...wait...Wrong kind of collectable.
Classic stuff is awesome no matter what it is. Cars, Trucks, Planes, Trains, Boats, etc. Sadly, it's a bit rich for my blood. Some of those newer ones look decent at the very least. Still want my '69 Mustang and 2011 Camaro SS :arrgh!: :sunny: Come on Lottery...there's a winning ticket there somewhere. |
Maybe they'll head to the Dezer Collection in Miami? :hmmm:
That's where my two favourite Lake District musea disappeared to, The Cars Of The Stars, and The James Bond Museum. That just leaves the Pencil Museum now, home of the world's largest pencil. |
Drove passed the pencil museum two year ago and was so unimpressed from the outside we didn't bother going in...went to The Bank Tavern instead :03:
|
It was raining. I've been once, saw some pencils, watched a video on how 500 years ago graphite was found in Borrowdale, bought the kids some crayons.
Can't imagine much has changed so I wouldn't go again, but it passed an hour or so from the rain. :D |
