In the federal state of Brandenburg near the town Zossen, a crow was set on fire by an electricity overland line, fell dead and burning down from the sky and onto a meadow and set it ablaze. The firebrigade arrived with 25 and had to extinguish a fire of 3000 sqm. source: Die Welt.

A few years ago, a stork flew against a main power cable and cause the biggest power loss in the country. All the south had no power for 6 hours, the capital for 4 hours. :o
I can not remember every detail, but after the short circuit derivative by the cable snap, I think several cut-outs short circuit or something. |
