Three patrols....First one was Aug 39, no war no traffic.

Second Patrol...Sept11th to BF16..from home port to patrol area via English channel..No traffic no enemies nothing. Plenty-o- radio traffic. rtb after 20 days.

Third patrol..same story

Grey wolves 3.0 gold the only mod in jgmxd (whatever its called) I have on is the 16k atmosphere mod.

Something must be wrong, any Ideas?


Edit....Loaded a 1944 war patrol from Brest. still nothing up and down the channel.

Take out any campaign files and enable only the merged campaign.

and erased everything.


now I get crash when loading up the patrol

Take out black sea campaign in the GWX files. Not the game files.

I think they're saying to disable the campaign mods by using JSGME, not to delete any files from the install folders.

If you have the Black Sea campaign enabled, you will only see action there; if the Indian Ocean is enabled, you only see action in the Indian Ocean, etc.

Im just going to start from scratch and re install the whole thing.

I must apologise for presuming you knew I meant using JSGME to disable the campaign files.

I think now you know where you have went wrong...only enable and disable 'campaign' files using JSGME.

Uninstalled SH3 ...Check
Erased all Old Files...Check
Reinstalled SH3...Check
Patch to 1.4 even tho it says 1.3 but I confirmed it was 1.4..check
Downloaded latest version of SH3 Commander..check

I erased the grew wolves 3.0 so I have to re-download it now.
about half way thru it now..


So when I do get it going again, what are the dos and donts so this will not happen again.

I'd strongly recommend you delete the SH3 folder if you already haven't and perform a clean up of the registry files.

Ok ......A quick look at the JGSM thing and NO mods are activated.
I'm almost afraid to try it.

And BINGO! It works! Started in 1940 and upon spawn in dock I seen plenty of friendly ships. Went out into the English Channel and ran across a minesweeper or fishing trawler.

I must have tried to use the Black sea mod back in 2009 or 10 cant remember. What mods do I never want to touch so this never happens again? I assume Black Sea campaign and Indian Ocean campaign should never be switched on.

I'm pretty sure if you use "Merged Campaign", you'll get all the ships in all the theaters. It's just that they give the option for "Black Sea Only" or "Indian Ocean Only" for those who don't want to wait for everything to load if they just want to patrol those areas and plan to stay away from the North Atlantic.
