RE: Utilities Mod: SH4 Report generator ver. 5102
I've asked this question in the download thread, but I doubt that anyone will see it that could answer the question, so I'm re-posting here in hope. "Hi Kim Looks like a great add-on for my poor fading memory. Great to have something to look back on (or to generate accurate mission reports so i can boast about my Spectacular Results). Anyway, I'm having a think, a small installation issue. Following your instructions, I have dropped the .exe in the 'Save Games' folder, double-clicked to 'Add GamePath', and got the configuration window, entered a number, checked all the boxes, navigated to the SH4 installation location, then clicked 'Set SH4 Path'. This is where it goes wrong. I get a pop-up error message. Before clicking 'Set Path', my location tree is G:\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific (highlighted), with the usual sub-folders (data, MODS etc showing beneath it). When I click 'Set SH4 Path', the tree instantly changes to: G:/ - Silent Hunter (etc) -- data --- roster ---- Japan ----- Sea (which shows an 'open folder' icon) The pop-up is headed "SH4report_5102", and reads (showing the single quotation mark): " is not a valid integer value. I've scanned through the contents of the 'Sea' folder, but nothing obvious leaps out at me. I'm using SH4 1.5, with TMO, RSRDC with patch, and OTC." Any suggestions from the gurus? Thanks Gryff |

The apparent error remains, with that message pop-up (" not an integer), but in fact, if you just close it and ignore, the report generator works just fine. In particular, it saves your torpedo information (number of hits, misses, duds etc), which is great to have. In addition, you can correct, for your own records, sinkings that you achieved that were not recorded in the Captain's log or Office Journal (it happens, believe me - I've got screen shots to prove it!). The only thing missing (which a modder may correct) is auto recording of the start and end dates of the patrol, and any awards given upon return (both of which you can add in manually). So, by all means, use it and enjoy. Gryff |
glad you found a solution and it is all sorted now

So, what happens is, the Reports v3 gets installed in the C: drive Save games folder, but the game path default starts in the C: drive, and does not allow, at this early stage, an elevation up the tree to point it to an alternate drive. Unless a guru can help, I think I am stuck with being unable to try this version. Sigh Gryff |
