Bland was one of those unsung heroes of his field who had a huge influence on a great many of his contemporaries and on those who followed after him. He was one of those others cited as an influence: 'You think I'm good, you should hear Bobby'. The genres he affected are so many; blues, soul, jazz, rock, pop, country and many others. This is a great loss to the music world..
