I'll say this, I sure am not going to wherever the plane at 4:00 is landing. No sir.

I fly in a few days, I'll have this video in mind, I've landed a few places where there is a "vomit feeling"

NICHT LANDEN! NICHT LANDEN!

I think, growing up back in the 1980s/1990s the airport I will always remember that used to boggle my mind whenever I saw video or pictures from it was Kai Tek:

Take a plane trip to the island of St Bart and you'll literally get off the plane and kiss the ground.

Landing at Scranton International in Wilkes-Barre, Pa is no picnic either, due to a nasty downdraft at the end of a runway perched on a mountain.
I was on a flight in and the pilot cut power at about thirty feet of altitude, slamming us onto the runway.

I had an exciting wave off while attempting to land at Stuttgart, apparently there was another aircraft already on the runway and the pilot thought it wise to abort and have another go. The screams from other passengers when the engines suddenly went to full power as we banked hard to port and raised the nose was deafening. An thoroughly good flight.:D

Only birds can fly. When humans do it it's called controlled falling.:03:

"The art of flying is throwing yourself at the ground and missing" (borrowed from Terry Pratchett's Pyramids)

Flew into their twice in the late 70's (never flew out) and tbh I was never all that happy but the job at the time dictated I had to :hmmm:

Always knew that airline pilots tend to be a bit crabby.

I remember landing at Cincinnati on a commuter flight. I was able to sense that the plane landed at a large cross wind angle. The best I can describe it was that I was facing forward motion and looking at the side of the cabin.

Anyone leaving for a trip to the Mount Everest ? :dead:

Herr-Berbunch 06-25-13 07:16 AM

Lukla is a bad ass airport!

I don't know where the one at 4:00 is but the one after it is Tincontin International in Honduras. From the cockpit it doesn't look half as scary.
