A ship was lost and this is good?

Yes people were saved...thats great...but a ship was also sunk! That's not awesome. :timeout:

Where did he say it was awesome? The crew could have died. They were saved. Ships can be replaced. Lives can't.

Grow up.

I was meaning that it shouldn't happen in the first place!

Ships sinking is never good. :-? I know that ships can be replaced and that it's really really good that they saved these people...but I'm saying that it would be better if it didn't even happen. :yep:

Not at all. What he said was totally uncalled for, attacking someone for saying the crew surviving was a good outcome? Just went down several notches in my book.

Not, as he constantly brags, that he cares one way or the other.

I'm done.

Okay...what I said was not worded correctly...also once again I have shoved my size 15 foot in my mouth and down my throat.

I constantly brag that I care about things? :hmmm:

If there's something that I'm doing that you don't like...tell me please. If I'm doing something and I'm not aware of it I can't change it. I didn't mean to attack Jimbuna. I was trying to say that this entire ordeal is bad and shouldn't have happened. Yes, it's great that the crew was recovered alive...but it would've been much better if a boat didn't sink and people's lives weren't put in danger.

I can't change your opinion of me. What you think of me is your opinion and everybody is entitled to their own. I know I've apologized many times before and I probably will apologize many more times throughout my lifetime. This is yet another example of how I didn't think before I posted. If I had elaborated a bit and thought about the post it would've come out different.

When I open that link, it freezes this forum page. :hmmm:

EDIT: That's pretty cool. I didn't know they did that.

Plus there's a nice archive of nautical calculators that are fun to play with even though I have no idea how to actually use them.

FWIW, you're ok in my book, I understood your comment correctly.
It seems G.S.Patton also suffered from this "ailment": "your own mouth is your worst enemy!"
And I'm also a member of this particular club :haha:

Back on OT, it's great news the crew was saved. Many fishermen are not so lucky.

The fact that the boat sank and that people's lives were put in danger is obviously not good.

Your comment, however, were a bit unnecessary because you misunderstood Jim's comment. He said that it was a good outcome. Outcome, implying that he was talking about the response that happened AFTER the boat's sinking was inevitable, and not the event as a whole.

You of course know that now and everything, but don't jump at something without understanding it thoroughly first. That's how arguments that shouldn't happen in the first place start.
