Former Slovene PM convicted in corruption charges
Janez Jansa, former prime minister and leader of the SDS party; Anton Krkovic, former brigadier general of the Slovene Army and Ivan Crknovic, president of the Rotis company (they would assemble the armoured vehicles) were convicted today for accepting bribes in the Patria affair.
- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22781752 - http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/...647_story.html The Patria affair was an arms deal gone wrong, when signs of corruption and clientelism were surfaced, that top brass and goverment officials were bribed to select the Finnish Patria proposal, which was more expensive and later plagued by design and equipement inefficiencies. Despite there was a cheaper, home-built offer. Jansa received 2 years and €37 000 fine, Krkovic and Crkovic received both 22 months and the same €37 000 fine. Oponents and supporters of Jansa were besieging the courthouse http://www.delo.si/assets/media/pict...nsa.jpeg?rev=1 My opinion ?? Crknovic and Krkovic were greedy little pawns and should get a fine worth the money they received and a few more years and Jansa should be hanged |
All I can think of is how Sean Bean has let himself go recently. (the guy on the right)
How many more corrupt politicians to go? |
