Uplay launcher not working after update

Hi guys, Iīm really annoyed right now. After more than one week donwloading mods and learning about tweaking SH5 to make it the experience it should be, ubisoft has surprised me today with a backstabbing update for uplay. Of course the program auto-updated without ever trying to ask my permission to do so. And, of course, there are problems afterwards. Serious problems, because now the launcher doesnīt recognize my password. It works in the ubisoft website, but doesnīt work for the launcher. Funny, isnīt it?

I post this here so someone can help me, if you have ever experienced one of these crazy ordeals. Itīs really disgusting trying to play a game you have paid for and some stupid program (and the "brains" behind it) preventing to do so.

:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!

Actually the game itself spawns the Uplay browser, it's not the Uplay browser spawning the game. The game sits in an idle loop waiting for a response from the Uplay browser as to whether it can go ahead and enter into the main game loop or not :yep:

problem solved: my password was more than 16 characters long. How is it possible that the system didnīt alert me when signing up is something beyond my comprehension

Im having problems too. Since the update SH5 gets to menu and immediately CTD's. Or at best it CTD's on trying to load a savegame

GRRRR

I had the same problem yesterday after the Uplay update, password not recognised, then when I was able to load game, it would crash with save game synch. However it worked fine this morning. I did find that the save game synch did take a bit longer than usual initially.

Had Same Problem

After requesting my PW, and then changing the PW still did not work.
Then I remembered I play the game with off line settings.
Changed it to online and I was able to log in. Then reset it back to offline

crazy?

Hola compaņeros,
Esto es horrible. Mi pregunta es: esto es legal?
Yo ya estaba controlado por Uplay.
Por que no lo comentan antes de cambiar o actualizar?
Esto es de locos!

Hello partners,
This is horrible. My question is: is this legal?
I was already controlled by Uplay.
For that don't comment it before to change or to upgrade?

This is of crazy!

If I could get my hands on the mongrels that accessed my private computer without my permission, I would right at this moment choke the life out of the bastards!!
My game won't even start now. I click on the icon for SH5 and the little round thing spins for a second then nothing.
This is computer HACKING and there are supposed to be LAWS in place to prevent this. You buy a $10 game off them and that gives Uplay the right to break and enter your home and do what they like!
I have just spent a couple of weeks of my free time sorting through all the modding ect, game was working superbly and I was on my way to Danzig Bay for my first patrol and now this!
I am so angry I'm frothing at the mouth and I really would like to KILL them!!

Uplay

After Uplay updated itself yesterday I cannot play SH5. I get to the main screen and when I try to load a game or start a new career I get is a small windows which pops up and says "The internet connection experiences problems and the current game session was saved. Please wait until the internet connection is restored or press the OK button to return to the main menu."
Now I uninstalled all the mods I had and tried to play with original install with no luck, the same message appeared.
I emailed Ubisoft and was greeted with an automated response saying they would look into the problem.
Yeah mates, I too am pissed off with the mongrels who treat us like crap.
I was so looking forward to playing for a few hours. (retired with time on my hands)
Anyone else getting the same message?

Try setting your uplay settings to start the game online and see what happens .

Agreed. My game would not work after the update either. Changed settings to online. Uplay logged on, found SH5. I went to offline after SH5 showed up in the game display. Clicked the SH5 icon and SH5 loaded fine then.

Will give it a go mate, but first I am going to load some of the mods you guys have so selflessly donated here.
I will let you know how I get on.
