RIP: Chrissy Amphlett

You had a troubled but inspirational life; you'll not be forgotton for a very long time. I loved your music and related to your troubles. Your music brought enjoyment to so many people and you truly became an icon of Aussie rock. May you rest in peace.

I felt I had to post this somewhere, she deserves some kind of tribute.

If you don't know her, she was the singer from the Aussie rock band The Divinyls from the '80s and '90s.

The band sold millions of records but ended up broke. In the end she succumbed to MS and breast cancer, such a quiet end for such a wildwoman of rock'n'roll.

:salute::rock::Kaleun_Cheers: am havin' a few drinks for ya and crankin' Divinyls all night. RIP.

ABC news article and very insightful interview:

Was a big fan of the Divinyls and bought every CD and DVDs of theirs I could find. Most people will probably know the group from the infamous "I Touch Myself" single and video, but there was some good solid musicianship and songwriting on their albums that put the single to shame. It's a pity when an act is known for what is in the "pop press" rather than for their real talents...

As for Chrissy, she was a force of nature and will be missed...

RIP Chrissy, and many thanks...

Awww.., I'm so jealous TarJak, I never got to see 'em live, but love the live footage, must've been a hellova show.

Here's another awesome Divinyls track, and well, what a filmclip :o:

From the album 'Underworld', an Australia only release; such a shame they were restricted in this way. :nope:
