How many careers will it take to play the war?
I am going to do a fun test. I have mostly played the start of the war, then some escort gets me, and I start over again.
This time I will play that if my guy dies, I start a new one at the start of the month he died in. And see how many it takes me to get all the way to the end of the war. :salute: Feel free to take a pool to guess how many it will take. First up Gerhard Dittrich - 2nd Flo - U-32 - Type VIIB |
9 is The number.

The later you're in the war, the more often you'll have to reincarnate. I think too it could be done under 10. By the way, are you checking the realistic career length option on SH3 Commander in?

No I have not, as the idea is to have the guy go until he is Lost in Action. First Real patrol - 28,000 tons sunk, but this is early on when almost all the ships are solo and no real threats that you can avoid. I have Crew Transfers, Historic Uboat, and random number of days in port. |
23 careers!

I reckon it will take you ten :)

If you're careful, one.

I don't know.:D I have never finished the war with my settings!:wah: |
As from 43 it could be more than 3 careers per year, I would say... 14.
Although it could be even 5, if you play it really safe... |
I am guessing 13.

Using the 'realistic career length' option, it took me 8 (three lost at sea, two surrendered, and three retired). Three until mid-'43, then four until end of '44, and one last (surviving) with a XXIII :D
The four between '43 and '44 were pretty unsuccessful :lost: |
