Hi, Chris Schrader here. I am returning to the world of PC gaming after a long break. I bought SH5 before I had a system able to run it. With a new Desktop ordered I wanted to introduce my self to the Sub Sim community. I will be looking for assistance in getting up to speed on the configuration and updates to SH5. I also want to thank the Sub Sim team as I have used there Website for 2 years as my source for navel news from around the world. My goal will be to breach the Halifax Harbour defenses and surface at pier 9 where I had my first job on the waterfront.

Welcome and good luck with breaching the harbour. It's those little things of familiarity of homes in the UK that keep me interested in the SH sims. I remember playing a flight sim (can't remember the name) many years ago where you could only use a mouse and keyboard for control and took immense pleasure destroying Gravesend (my home town) with a Stuka. It took me quite a few sorties, mind :yep:
I've yet to get into Liverpool docks (my father-in-law's and his father's workplace years ago) but that's my intention eventually :hmmm: Good hunting :salute: :subsim: |

Welcome back to true gaming. PC games are the best.
It's a long list, but here are the mods I use without having any problems. There are others available. Best advice is add one at a time, test for a while, then another. I use jsgme mod enabler and it will tell you if there is a conflict, file overwriting. Back off on those and you should be OK. Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I hope that as I get back into the swing of things I will get a chance to meet you all in the deep blue sea. The mods lists look interesting and I saw a post dividing them into three groups that I may try out. Till the hardware is delivered I'll be sifting through the site.
