Ships log and U-boat number

How do you pick your U-boat number and how do you get to sinc up with the ship log and alike. I have tried it through TDW's option selector but it doesnt seem to work for me. Any advice would be helpfull.

I used the same method, I used the Option File Editor viewer to change my U-boat number, but the BDU still calls me U-021, does this require a new campaign?

No.. it doesn't..
Just made/set your changes and then allow the app to update all the required files in the game folder and in the My Documents folder..
