Best video game movie ever?

DOA: Dead or Alive is the best video game movie. It had everything the games had, fighting, boobies, volleyball, etc.

I think it is actually a faithful adaption of the source material

If you haven't seen it, go see it NOW!

What is the best video game movie you have ever seen?

Can't pick a favorite, but I liked the first Resident Evil movies and Hitman.

Resident Evil, but I kinda like Milla Jovovich :03:

A movie that has a cliche filled, over acted monologue disregarded like this can't anything but awesome. Otherwise I don't remember almost anything about that film, but I liked it when I was a kid.

^ Also, [MenBehavingBadly]Kyyylie![/MenBehavingBadly] :yep:

Oh shoot, I started watching parts of it in Youtube and suddenly find it very difficult to stay on my chair. That film is comedy gold and I'm not even sure if it's intentional or not. :har:

I like DOA ... I like to play DOA ... I really like the volleyball video game especially when my 10 year old granddaughter won all of the swim suits while I took a nap on day,
but even Jaime Pressly said she didn't like the movie and here is why:

Quote:

"I can't say that I'm upset that it didn't come out," she said. "We were working with a director, Corey Yuen, who is one of the number one action and marital arts directors in the world. That's why we did the film. In the process of filming, a lot of bad stuff came up and happened, being that we were over in China in little small villages, you didn't have the means necessary to get things done like you do when you're in Hollywood. So I think between things getting lost in translation because there were four dialects going on at all times, or languages I should say, and the lack of necessities, it just didn't turn out the way that it should have. And I think for gamers, a lot of the stuff was inaccurate because they changed it along the way."

Video game as video game = good
Video game as movie = bad

Unless, of course, the movie is based on the universe established in a video game, and not the game itself. Like this: http://www.youtube.com/show/halo4forwarduntodawn

I KNEW you would post something like that. :O:

Hell I was even about to post with my first post that maybe we should stick to "actual" movies

I rest my case.

Not so much as a game movie per se, but in some older games like Wing Commander IV, the live action videos were great, and added a lot to the game itself. Mark Hamil and Malcom McDowell added a lot of atmosphere to those games. Same with some of the opening cut scenes for the "Janes Combat Simulations" whether it was live acting or animated, it added so much to the story.

Even having real actors doing the voice acting was a nice touch! Don't see a whole lot of that anymore.

Remember this? Mark Hamil on the left, not sure who is in the middle, but that's "Biff" on the right, from Back to the Future, lol

None.

Some are guilty pleasures....but that's not saying they're any good at all.
