So teaching stomping on Jesus ok ?????
http://www.wptv.com/dpp/news/region_...re-poole-class
I think it would be ok if ,,Alluh and Muhammad got equal time,,,brought on to you by the same folk that boooed god. |
I read about that as well, very strange teachings these days.
The school first defended the teacher and now they are back-tracking on their stance. As for the teacher I would get rid of him, what was the point he was trying to make? Nothing to do with education IMO. |

Right church wrong pew my man. I would post this in the gameplay section rather than General Topics. |
No problem if other names get their share, too, including Muhammad or Buddha.
Article says the exercise means to illustrate the power of names/words, which the very existence of this thread perfectly illustrates to be true. Whether it is positive that names/words are given so much authority, is something different. Many years ago I used to know many lifestyle Buddhists. They seriously tried to tell me that I would damage my karma and that it was a "sin" if I would place certain Buddhist books on the floor or on bookshelves located at lower height than my heart when standing. Some of them really became incited when I refused to comply. Certain things amongst religious people never change, no matter their religion being theistic or nontheistic or polytheistic. Needless to say, those acquaintanceships did not last forever. :D Words... :) A bamboo flute without holes is no flute, but a hole without a flute is something very different. :haha: |
Seems a silly exercise to demonstrate the power of a word. The student should be allowed to not participate without recourse. My daughter did not want to participate in the dissection of a frog in her Biology class. Cutting up animals is not her cup of tea. She was excused without recourse. A fellow classmate was also excused.

Wasn't Jesus a rather common name back then...?
