Black RAF Aircrew in WW2

Hi. I am doing research for an author on the history of black volunteer aircrew in the RAF during WW2. Can anyone tell me anything about this or point me somewhere? I can’t find a lot online but we know that over 400 of these men existed! Thanks :)

Thank you Synthfg. While there may be some sources available online, when researching a book for a subject the only acceptable sources are the primary ones. Your list is a great start.

And Welcome Aboard, LouiseB! :sunny:

Welcome and good luck with the research. I think you'll find the vast majority came from the Commonwealth.

I'd recommend contacting Al McLean, curator, or Peter Dye, DG, at the RAF Museum Cosford. They've a specific display on later this year but you may get some relevant info prior to that, and more besides.

And welcome aboard. :salute:
