OHII Missions and other ingame changes.

Ok as for Mods the only one I am running is OHII and the few extra atmospheric mods that go with OHII.

I have been playing it for only a little while but I did the first 3 missions no problem, Scapa flow was a bitch but I snuck in and sank 2 large battelships a royal soverign and something else.

Snuck out with one torpedo left after taking out some of the destryers comming to get me. Sank a depth charging destoyer and had to surface otherwise we were all going to die of C02 poinsoning. used my deck gun to take out a small torpedo boat who did the most damage to me with his machinegun.

Anyway I digress. I did the next mission on the british coastal waters and then went on to the North Western Appraches. I got a new boat and did well to conserve fuel. I managed to go north around the Orkneys air cover then I started getting some nice convoy encounters and in only two sessions got my tonnage.
My first encounter with a task force. sunk a destroyer and then anouther Royal Soverign that was surrounded by 10 destroyers... got away after evading two depthcharging destroyers.
On my way home met a troop transport and a large convoy unprotected. I sunk the merchants with guns first and then took my time sailing at the surface in the middle of the convoy waiting for my rear torpedos to reload, used all my external spares and all of my deck gun ammunition.

I made it back to Wilhelms..... reloaded all my torpedos, used some of my renown to get a new paintjob and then went to the missions officer. BUT there are no new missions for me!

So questions being...

Do I go out on patrol and sink convoys until a mission becomes avaliable?

Or is this a bug?

What aspects of the game do I atribute to OHII or the stock game, like a Battleship surrounded by 10 destroyers?

So far so good - you seem to be doing well:yeah:

When each campaign was updated with v2 - I linked most of the objectives so that they would appear when you finished the one before.
There are however some objectives that are date related (this is to keep the history buffs happy) and I have to stall the objectives.
So I could have set higher requirements but users who play real nav would find them very hard to finish in time.

ANyway yes, you should go and patrol anywhere you like and you will be sent a message when the next objective is ready.
You can check the dates here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=189818

This is easy - anything that is good was OHII - anything not so good was stock:O:

BBs should get a heavy screen:hmmm:
The escorts and convony system used in stock and in OHII is like this:-

I can set an escort of say 2 type A dds with a 20% chance of spawning
I can do this with other types - so some type b etc ect

Now this will result in a random chance for escort numbers and types, but there is also a very small cance that all can be spawns and sometimes you may see this.

Sink em all:arrgh!:

Trevally,

Thanks so much for you reply. I love the Mod, and I attribute my interest in the game and ability to get further in the campagin to your mod! I made it past the coastal waters in the stock game and gave up.

As for sinking all the Destroyers, I was already low as hell on fuel and only had just enough to make it home. Plus it was my first Battleship and lagre amout of Destroyers on the move and so didnt want to risk getting (pardon the pun) out of my depth!

So in my 'free' mission I wanted to go raise some hell on some other coastal waters. I snuck in around Lewis got into Stornoway and sunk some tankers and passenger ships and then took out all of the screening destroyers with one torpedo to spare.

HOWEVER, i was sorely disapointed with the ladscape around Skye and Loch Ewe. shame they couldnt make it more mountainous. Mind you I was being hunted by a destroyer and didnt really take the time to look too hard ate the coast.

Anyway... you answered my quesgtions perfectly, back to work then later back to the game!

Yes - Hills are not as well done as some other areas of the game.
I can say however that the map used in SH5 (showing the coast) is very good.
With local knowledge however, you may see some small bays or features etc missing or wrong. (Trees in Orkney:nope::wah::D)

Come to think of it the very north coast of Scotland shouldnt have many trees either!
And yes I am quite impressed by the detail of the map. The Falkland islands are very accurate and for a small insignificant island group that is not really featured in the story of this game I have to say that the map is one aspect of the stock game that they did well to do.

BUT there is a Kiel Canal and no Suez Canal?

SO... leading me onto anouther question, does your mod, or any other mod include a world wide campaign with ships from more than just the main nations involved?

I noticed there is a port of Suez, are there convoys going around the southern tip of Africa? It would be a long way to get to the middle east and it would be good if there was a reason to go there, especially on the way to Hit the jewel of the Empire, India.
