New Game - Strike Suit Zero

strike suit zero is a steam game so thats a bummer but still this is a nice space shooter thats a blast to play. http://www.strikesuitzero.com/

there is "some" strategy to it but i wouldnt call it a sim, its mainly just a fun space shooter and its done very well and for a $20 game it cant be beat IMO.

there are a lot of videos on youtube here showing the different levels you will progress thru but its definately not easy and while it might get a little boring listening to the same intro as you repeat the levels several times before you are good enough to go to the next level. the learning curve is done very well on this one i think.

if you like space shooters with very nicely done grafics with non-stop white nuckle action then this game will be very fun for you.

its being done by some guys that want to create a well made finished game so its not another one of those big game companies that just released a buggy half finished game just for profits, these guys are creating patches to fix all the bugs in the game as well as customer requests such as adding difficulty levels (its all hard level right now) and things like true inside the cockpit views.

Nice...I'll check this out! :)

the final stage is a little bit of a let down compared to the other levels of ever increasing difficulty throughout but it would have been soo much better if there were lots of gun pods you had to deal with on your journey.

my one complaint is you cant skip past the dialog and intro videos for each level so when you repeat it several times you get sick of hearing it over and over

Not exclusively. I knew this sounded somehow familiar and remembered thinking it looked interesting when released. Must definitely take a closer look when it comes to a promo. :yep:

well you can buy it other places but you have to login to steam to play and get updates

I highly doubt GOG would start making exceptions like that just for one game but not going to argue about it since I don't have it. Just saying that it wouldn't make any sense from their point of view.

Edit: Link to patch thread. And another one with the words "We just uploaded". No mention of Steam on either. Nor anywhere in the game card.

well i looked and i cant find the patch downloads anywhere and must log directly into steam to get the game updated with them.

look here at the amazon site: http://www.amazon.com/Born-Ready-Gam...2645735&sr=1-1

at the bottom of the description you will see this: Requires Steam Client to activate.

and it appears you also need steam client to update as well

and from the gamers gate website: Note: This product requires a third-party download and account

so it appears the other sites are just reselling the steam version game

GOG releases the updates to the people who bought the game on GOG. That's what they do with every single other title too. They're a business, not a patch site.

well if GOG is steam free then i would buy from them but every other sight that sells the game says somewhere that steam is required to activate it. it dont think the game needs steam to play once its activated because its single player game but who knows with steam, they like to spy on people once they get on your system.

I'm no fan of Steam either and that's why I find this interesting. On Kickstarter it seems the developers confirmed too that there are two versions: Steam and the DRM-free GOG version.
