Some one called No Joy

I was out with my Type II boat, and was down to the last two torpedoes and sent them into a large merchant. I followed the merchant for about 5 minutes until it started to sink, but I did not get credit for the kill...:hmmm:
Any reason for this? I was guessing it was because I did not give it the final damage that sank it, or did I. It was my two hits that finally made her sink.:hmmm:

But I do have a great screen shot with it:

That is rather surreal.

As you mentioned, you might not have inflicted the final HP of damage. Weather is often the culprit.

Secondly, never get that close to sinking ships, they tend to explode, taking you with them.

Amazing screenshot.
Too bad you didn't get the credit for that large merchant.

that is an awesome shot! too bad you didn't get the credit. I've had that happen a couple of times as well.

Probably as you reckon (final hit points) but this is an anomaly that reads its ugly head from time to time.

Usually happens when you start a career, and add equipment to the u-boat before sailing on the first patrol. I always just start and end the first career patrol at the dock first, then add the equipment and sail on a patrol.

Thanks for the hint. This one was on the bottom, with its flag still fling in the wind. Good place to hide and wait out the Destroyer that will investigate the distress call that the sinking ship has made.

The Destroyer can't drop on you, as it can't get close to you with the ship in the way.

It's happened to me a few times as well. Chalk it up to Bdu not crediting your claim and move on. :arrgh!:
