Is it possible to determine class of the target without locking on ?
 
Hi, the title says it all, could i determine the class of target ship ( and send its height info to TDC ) without locking on the target ?

I am using TDW's UI mod.

Personally, I know every ship in the game just by looking at it, but you can press E (Default) to see a shipping guide.

So, you look at it, know it, find it from Ship manual and send its data to TDC right ? Could my gun officer identify the ship if i use E shortcut ?

You must lock, then select a ship from the menu, no other way.

Thank you for your response. My last question is thatwill locking on change my AOB value entered via dials ( Manual input is still turned on ) ?

I'm fairly certain you can do this with SOAN. At the bottom right of SOAN is a button that says send mast height data to TDC. I haven't played the game in months because of my work on the GR2 Editor/Viewer so I'm foggy even on my own mods :-?

In regards to IDing target: your officer can do that, but only if you have TDW's NewUI mods. You still have to lock, but there is an option to get help from your officer.
In regards to AOB problem: I've seen multiple posts about solutions. None of them worked for me. I still have a problem of AOB resetting to the previous value after I made some changes (speed or range), even if the button for manual enterring is pressed in NewUI. This is something I will eventually look into (whether figure it out myself or test it and deliver all results to TDW, but not atm)
