Is there playable ships for SHV?

Is there going to be any playable ships?

What i mean is-
Does SHV have the available resources to support surface playable ships?

This is a big maybe.

They changed many things when they made sh5. The modders have done a very good job of getting to understand the new system. It's very similar to sh3/4 but also very different at the same time.

I believe it's in the realm of possible.. if someone wants to tackle that behemoth. But realistically it's not going to happen anytime soon, too much work would be needed.

Nothing comes easy, especially with sh5 modding.

So far no one has managed to put a new u-boat type into the game. Surface ships in this format would require creating the entire ship from bow to stern, as walking through the boat is the main selling point of the game in the first place. Then there would be the crew and all the details.

Easier to just play SH3 or SH4, where it's already been done. Of course even then you're looking at the u-boat interior. :dead:

It would be a very hard task to build a 3d GR2 of a ship, especially on this scale.
But it would be very enjoyable.

The problem was the file format GR2 that made this very difficult. Perhaps Ubi was thinking limiting the creation of extra units and then sell aditional submarines and ships using DLC... but this never arrived an the game abandoned after some months.

TheDarkWraith is creating a importer exporter but it´s stiil a [WIP]

But ShV may be the last submarine simulator in a lot of time and there are still room for improvements and expansions .
