That was terrible, but I agree it wasn't worth risky another life to save a dead person. I think they say they hole is 50ft deep now.

Makes you wish for a few hundred dollars worth of rebar in your slab.

What a horrible way to die. Wake up to find the earth itself is eating you up.
R.I.P. Jeff Bush |
I've been following this too. They say the reason for this may have been something that started developing in earth literally millions of years ago. Talk about incredibly bad luck.
|
Heard today that it's getting bigger and they're afraid the homes next to it will be swallowed up too. RIP Jeff Bush.
|
Not meaning to make light of a tragic event, but as my late friend Rocky used to say, "Sometimes you get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets you."
|
The last I heard about the size. It is about 30 feet (9m) wide at the surface, about 100 feet (30m) wide underneath. I read this a couple days ago in one of the fire department trade magazines.

That house from the outside just looked like another house down in Florida, but I guess on the inside is where it got scary.
Fifty feet down is long way to go when scuba diving ... that's for sure. I wonder how insurance can pay off if there is no body? |

Sink holes are becoming a problem around the Gulf Coast it seems.
I'm keeping an eye on the one in Louisiana and now this? :o Glad I finished up down there and got back North! (I'm thinking it's a secret FEMA base to train Obama's Storm Troopers causeing the problems. :haha:) |
We had problems in my area after T.S. Debby, water was flowing away from coast finding caves and lower depressions in areas until finally leveling out.
here is a place of intrest next to me: http://www.floridahikes.com/leon-sinks Some photo's on web: http://www.google.com/search?q=leon+...w=1382&bih=645 FITH |
I just hope this guy did not suffer too much, but I fear it was not a nice way to die. :nope:
