Launching SH5
 

Perhaps I’m not too computer savvy, but I have played all the Silent Hunter games, SH1- SH5, and I need some help with the latest SH5 version. I purchased and loaded SH5 a while ago when I was still playing SH4. At that time I reset the settings and played offline. Since then the interface has changed and I'm having a problem playing the game. The intro movie plays (“All this is not just a game”), the Silent Hunter 5 Logo comes up and the red line indicates the game has loaded. Then I’m sent back to the Uplay Screen with a message that say’s, "Thanks for playing Silent Hunter 5.” I want to play off line, but this is what I get even when I haven’t chosen the off line mode. I can't get into the game.

I’ve also added some mods to the game since I played it off line last time via the Jones Soft Generic Mod Enabler. Does adding mods via the Jones Soft Enabler make a difference in being able to launch the game? Maybe I’m confused as to what I should be doing to launch the game.

In the top right hand side under my username do I select online or offline before I go to settings? Do I need to change this selection at any time during or after I set up the settings?

What should be the settings to play off line? I untick the “Always start Uplay in the offline mode” on the settings that appear in the spoked wheel to the left of my username. At this point do I Exit the Launcher by going to the “Home” tab, exit Uplay, or close the settings dialog box?

Then do I start the launcher by going to the screen that has the large Play button and click on the Play button? I also tick everything except Enable cloud save synchronization for supported games and then Exit the launcher again … but how are you supposed to exit? Go to the “Home” tab, exit Uplay, close the settings dialog box?

Do I now Start the launcher? I assume starting the Launcher means going to the screen that has the large Play button and clicking on the Play button.

I was able to launch the game previously, before the interface changed and before I added mods. What am I doing wrong? I want to play Silent Hunter 5 offline.

As I mentioned I’ve played all the SH games, and was able to launch this previously, but I can’t get it to launch with the new interface or the mods I’ve added. Please be specific in any instruction. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
