Great Train Robber Reynolds dies

He will probably be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Quote:

Bruce Reynolds, who was the key planner behind the £2.6m Great Train Robbery in 1963, has died aged 81.
Reynolds evaded capture for five years, mainly spent overseas, but after returning to England was captured in 1968. He spent 10 years in jail.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the scene from the Beatles movie Help! (1965):

Superintendent: So this is the famous ring?
Ringo: I'm in fear of me life, you know!
Superintendent: And these are the famous Beatles?
John: So this is the famous Scotland Yard, eh?
Superintendent: And how long do you think you'll last?
John: Can't say fairer than that. The Great Train Robbery, eh? How's that going?

Wasn't Biggs played by Phil Collins in a film some time ago ?
Very bad for the train driver Mr. Jack Mills, there was a lot of hype on the thieves, but much less on him -

But still makes you think - 2, 5 million pounds - is this more than one of those criminal bankers gets as a bonus nowadays, in one year .. :hmm2:

That thought had crossed my mind....the robbery was big news for quite a few years.
