TDW: no hydrophone on the surface
I have been using TDW's No Hydrophone On The Surface mod and I like the added realism it adds. Yesterday I ran across an odd glitch while tracking a merchant. I normally ask the sound man for a report on the nearest contact, wait a bit then repeat until I have a rough idea of the ships course. This time I used the option for the sound man to track the nearest sound contact instead of asking for a report every few minutes. He faithfully kept feeding me the bearing to the target, I determined a rough course, surfaced and rang up a flank bell to intercept the target. So here I am on the surface doing 16 knots, but the sound man is still tracking the target and giving me updated bearings :06:

I haven't heard of a specific fix for this yet, it might be something that has been overlooked and needs to be tweeked. Do you have all of the Patches installed? I'm talking about TDW's patches not the Ubisoft Patches. Some of the Hydrophone bugs are taken care of in the those patches; http://www.mediafire.com/?122j2dqypoy3ev4 And how to use; http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...postcount=7773 If you already have these installed, it might just be one of those quirks that didn't get written in. Try clicking the button next to the report button and see if it doesn't shut the soundman up. Good Luck D40 |
Yep...I installed TDWpatcher and followed Sober's mod install order. Looks like a bug in the Hydrophone mod....just a guess on my part since I am no expert.
