[Question] Aircraft Graphics Improvement
Just wondering. Is there a mod for SH5 that improves the graphics for the all aircraft, and adds aircraft usually not added into the sim by the Devs? I did a Search but found it's been done for SHIII, but not found anything for SH5.
Thanks. |

Open Horizons and probably MTNS add several new aircraft to the game. On the other hand, there are many aircraft available from SHIII/IV mods that are still waiting to be ported to SH5. This is a partial list I have compiled a while ago: Bristol Beaufighter Yakovlev Yak-1 Grumman F4F Wildcat / Martlet Messerschmitt Bf 110 Messerschmitt Bf 109 Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3 Supermarine Spitfire Beriev Be-2 Beriev MBR-2 Lockheed Hudson Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Consolidated B-24 Liberator Bristol Blenheim Ilyushin DB-3 Heinkel He 111 Junkers Ju 88 Lockheed PV-1 Ventura / PV-2 Harpoon Vickers Wellington Consolidated PBY Catalina Dornier Do 24 Mitsubishi A6M Zero Nakajima A6M2-N Supermarine Spitfire Grumman F4F Wildcat Lockheed Hudson Consolidated B-24 Liberator Consolidated PBY Catalina Dornier Do 24 Nakajima B6N Tenzan "Jill" Most of them are from Operation Monsun. Some are apparently yet available in SH5, but they are using the same 3d model as other more or less (much more "less" than "more") similar planes. :03: |
Indeed, I do believe the aircraft lack detail, and they also have difficulty using their turret guns.
They do not seem to tack at all, or elevate their guns to track targets. |

Given this limited range, spotting their tracking abilities could be difficult. If you tell me which planes you are testing, I can tweak their guns for increasing this range. :yep: |
I was testing the Ju 290 bomber, it's side mounted guns were firing over the targets with horrible accuracy.

left gun: 240/300 deg right gun: 60/120 deg min/max elevation -10/+60 deg for both of them. So, do you mean that though being very accurate, they weren't visually tracking the target? :hmm2: |
