Watch Officer files?

Could someone point me in the direction of the game file that dictates what the watch officer says when you ask for closest visual contact? I want to try to make it so you only get bearing and a general range (long, medium or long range).

I have to wonder though if this has already been attempted as its a common request.

Thanks. I looked there but didn't see anything obvious to tinker with.

It would be great if we could just replace the WO calling out a numerical range with "long range" "medium range" or "short range"

So instead of him saying "Contact, bearing 137, range 4200 meters," he would say "Contact bearing 137, medium range."

It seems with all the other great mods and alterations that hvae been done with the game that something like this should be pretty easy. Maybe its hard coded.

Update: I figured it out. I made a small mod that still gives you bearing but no range when asking for nearest visual with CTRL+V. I'll release it when I have some time if anyone is interested.

Dark Wraith, is it ok if I release a TDW UI Mod compatible version since most people are using your mod? It makes changes to the menu.txt file in the menu folder which your UI mod also changes.
