Blocking all ambient noise while in Hydro station

ANyone know of a mod or fix that allows you to block all internal ambient noise when you are at the hydro station? I can hear hydro sounds and contact noises fine but I still hear some footsteps, sniffles, mumbling and other internal sub ambient sounds when on the hydro station. It can be distracting when trying to listen to a far off, faint contact.

What I mean is that even with the electric motors at "all stop" you still hear a lot of ambient noise from within the sub. People moving, talking, things clanking? In SH4, when you went to the hydro station all that was blocked out. How can we do that in SH5?

Isn't silent running reducing ambient noise anyway? :hmm2:

Hmmm. Trying to think of another way to put this. Yes, in real life silent running would stop all of that extra stuff that makes noise but the game doesn't simulate that. The internal ambient noise track keeps playing regardless.

What I'm referring to is when you go to the hydrophone station and take control of it, you obviously hear what the hydrphone is picking up (the white noise of the outside ocean.) That's fine. That's supposed to be there. What I'm talking about is all the clattering and footsteps and muttering of the crew that is part of my sub ambient noise sound track. These should not be audible when I'm listening to the hydrophone. However in SH5, they are audible. It's not a huge deal but sometimes when I'm listening to a far off contact that is very faint, I have a heard time hearing it over the ambient noise of the activity going on inside the sub. Does that make sense?

Only slightly. But i believe with headset on ears, those ambiant noises should be completely off :)

Other thing that is really missing in SH5 is a button order for the hydro guy to stop annoucing contacts!
For instance, following a friendly task force when hydro contacts while surfaced is giving a mess (when trying to accelerate time).
We have to wait the end of each talking to accelerate time, and not messsing game :nope:

What he said....:sign_yeah: completely agree..... I think the dev team, in it's search for immersion ...got this wrong.

I am sorry guys, reducing or zeroing sub ambient sounds in hydro station could be easily feasible through an AmbienVolume controller, if only I could locate their respective SoundSorce.
Unfortunately, so far I could not find it in any of the dsd files contained in the Submarine\Common\Rooms path. Peraphs the way this sound is controlled is hardcoded... :hmmm:

I was afraid it was something like that. Thanks for looking into it anyway.
