Recommended mod list?

Hi,
it's been quite a while since I've played SH3 and since I'm not all that satisfied with SH5 I'm thinking about going back to it. But most of the big unified mods have ceased to continue so what is the most recent state for playing mods in this game?
Which mods have been released in those last like 5 years that are a must-have and how compatible are they,
So in short:
Is there a list of mods that allows for realistic and stable gameplay that I can use?

That's an impossible request. First, on player's "must have" is another player's "meh". This means that someone else might hate my mod list, and vice versa.

Second, what do you mean by "most of the big unified mods have ceased to continue"? GWX, LSH3, NYGM and WAC are all still going strong.

To me there are only two "must-haves": One of the four I just mentioned and SH3 Commander. Everything else is gravy. On the other hand I have a lot of gravy, with many many mods on top of it.

I recommend you read this thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=170090 and then start to think about what you want.

Have to agree...I have seen mod lists by others and thought that some of the mods listed were not for me having tried them myself, I have my core mods and then extra for the "gravy"...my suggestion to the OP is try them out and see which ones you like.
I am waiting for this patrol to be over and then I am changing the officer icons on bottom left of screen for ones I found yesterday in Maiks list as I am always looking for the "gravy".

Thanks Sailor Steve, that link is a very good start. But I was under the impression that work on most supermods has stopped. I' mean like LSH is the only one I know that is still in active development.
Too bad many DL links don't work anymore and I somehow can't download from plissken's modlist (at the moment).

But I could imagine there actually are some must haves like a widescreen patch or the 4gb patch I've read about somewhere.

Thank you but it doesn't work for me right now. The download finishes but then it says "unknown network error" and the file does not appear on my PC.
