Nice find.
It is in my intensions to visit those U-booten as well as U-505 in the US. I don't know if I will be ever able to do that, though. I can picture myself in the Zentrale of that XXI shouting commands!:D |
Just visited U-505 a couple weeks ago...being in the U.S. the exhibit as a whole is of course US/Allied-centric, but the museum does a good job highlighting the Navies and the men while leaving the politics out, including recognition of the merchant marine, which I wasn't expecting but thought was a very nice touch. The boat itself is well-preserved (considering it's some 60+ years beyond it's designed service life) and definitely worth seeing.
