SH3 with GWX and Windows 8
 

Has anyone had problems with this combination? I have SH3 with GWX on my Windows 7 computer. I've been contemplating upgrading to Windows 8. When I ran the preliminary check program that MS sends to check your machine, the result says that SH3 is incompatible with Windows 8. So, I'm wondering if anyone else ran into this little detail, or if SH3 has ran fine with no or few problems.

It runs on Win 8,I am ironing out niggles as I go ut the majority of the time it runs

It works if you install it just like Windows 7 has to be installed, outside of the program files.

If you'd have ran the compatibility with Win 7 it would still have said not compatible. As said - install outside your program files and follow the normal rules for W7 install (mainly get rid of SF if you've got it).

Yeah, I followed the instructions for NOT installing SF. Which also allows me to play without having to put my disk in the DVD drive.

I guess for me, the really big question is it worth upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 8?

Unless you have a touch screen monitor, probably not.
