Helicopters Won't Land

I haven't played this game in a while and recently reinstalled it. Went looking for patches and found v1.04.

Since then, I've noticed when I'm controlling a FFG and try to recover a helicopter it will not land. It will get into final approach position and just stay there following the FFG.

I have the flight deck set to GREEN and have the relative wind line right down the middle.

Has anyone else had this issue and is there a fix?

The Seahawk will match speed for the approach and then slow down for a soft landing. It will hang off the FFG's stern unless the FFG is at a full stop. If you have altered the FFG's course or speed, the Seahawk will not land. It is best to be at a full stop when policing up the birds.

Thanks. I appreciate your help. That did the trick. I don't remember that being a requirement before.

Helicopters land now.

Wow. A welcoming broadside from the welcoming committee :).

I played around with the FFG/Seahawk relationship. I found the fastest recovery configuration was to set sail with the wind so that there is no relative wind or direction over the heli-deck.

So, if the wind is 011 - 090, setting a reciprocal course of 270 at 11 kts for the FFG and giving a recovery command to the helicopter seems to result in the least amount of time for the helicopter on final. However, my results are anecdotal as I did not actually measure the different approaches.
